Why Specialist Interpretation Matters
A sleep study provides data.
Clinical decisions require context.
The same result can have very different implications depending on your health.
For example, a "mild" sleep apnoea result may require treatment if you have:
Ischaemic Heart Disease
Atrial fibrillation
Resistant hypertension
Prior stroke or cardiovascular risk
In these situations, untreated sleep apnoea may increase cardiovascular strain, worsen arrythmia control and affect long-term outcome.
